National Award winner & extremely versatile actor-singer, Ayushmann Khurrana’s much-awaited & talked movie Bala’ is finally set to release on 7th November 2019. Actors including Saurabh Shukla, Javed Jaffery, Yami Gautam, Bhumi Pednekar are in the main roles. The movie is produced by Dinesh Vijan and directed by Amar Kaushik. The plot of the movie deals with a man who is suffering from alopecia (unpredictable hair loss). The story is a journey of how a man dealing with baldness deals with low self-confidence and social pressure.

Abhishek Pathak has compared ‘Bala’ to “Ujda Chaman” which also has a similar plotline, produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak & directed. Similar to Bala, Ujda Chaman also deals with a man suffering from alopecia.  As soon as the trailers of the movies dropped, the makers, actors & fans started to compare the movies.

Adding fuel to the fire was when the makers of Bala decided to release the movie on November 7 rather than 15 November. Some have speculated that the makers decided to release the movie early because Ujda Chaman was set to release on November 8. But finally, Ujda Chaman will hit the theater tomorrow that is 1st November. The makers of Ujda Chaman have also dragged the producers of Bala to court over making a similar film.

But, actor Ayushmann Khurrana who is the leading star in the movie ‘Bala’ has finally responded to the news & comparisons between the two movies. Ayushmann said that his film was “shot first” and is totally different from Sunny Singh starring ‘Ujda Chaman’.  Ayushmann also emphasized on the word ‘takla’ used in the latter’s movie poster. He said that using a word like that for a poster comes out as a negative and is demeaning towards people who suffer from premature balding. It’s not about celebrating self-love.

Ayushmann also gave an example and clarified that he is confident with his movie and is not affected by the continuous comparisons made. He elaborated with stating that “It happened with Bhagat Singh also. I’m confident about our film.’ Dream Girl actor also clarified that the script & storyline of ‘Bala’ is one of the best scripts he’s worked on to date. ‘Anybody can come up with the same idea’ he said.

He also explained that he has approached the plot or root cause of the movie baldness with empathy. The idea of the movie is to have the side of the people which is more prominent and says that you shouldn’t be bothered about it. That’s also the message of the film; Ayushmann concluded.

Ayushmann Khurrana is the lead in the movie ‘Bala’ with Bhumi Pednekar & Yami Gautam as leading actresses.

When asked about her views over the movie, Yami called ‘Bala’ relatable. She said that she has done movies like Vicky Donor which was one of the first films of it’s kind. It clearly shows that the audience is ready for a change.

Yami said that the audience wants to watch films and cinema with which they can relate themselves and talk about it. Talking about ‘Bala’, she said,  ‘I think a movie like Bala has been made at the right point of time, as the problem of hair loss in men’s problems is so much prevalent but nobody wants to speak about it. We all know it as it`s about complex and our insecurities and I think the change has come,”

Ujda Chaman, on the other hand, is a remake of Kanada film Ondu Motteya Kathe, which stars Sunny Singh, Karishma Sharma, Maanvi Gargroo & Aishwarya Sakhuja. It is all set to release tomorrow i.e. 1st November but the reviews of the movie are in. *Let us know if you want to know* When asked Sunny about the two movies, he said that he is bust shooting a movie and he just hears about the ongoing controversies via news or WhatsApp.

He also said that initially it felt like why is this happening but then he just started to focus on his project. Sunny Singh shared his admiration & love towards Ayuhmann’s acting. He went onto say that he is playing his role & I am playing mine. There is no bad blood.  We’re cool.  Well, all we want is that there should be no grudge or cold blood between people who work in the same industry.

We are excited to see how two completely different actors approach the same plot with their unique style. The comparisons & rumors will go in vain if the actors can show what they preach onscreen. So we should wait for the movies to release and not give our judgment.

On second thoughts, Why is no one asking Saurabh Shukla about the movies? He is in both movies!!
