What shook the nation was the list of artists that were going to be a part of this music festival. Katy Perry & Dua Lipa!
American pop singer, Katy Perry landed in Mumbai on Tuesday, for an upcoming music festival in the city. Katy Perry will open the OnePlus Music Festival on November 16 at DY Patil Stadium. Dua Lipa, Amit Trivedi, The Local Train & Ritviz will also join the Roar singer for the music festival.
Vikas Agarwal, general manager, OnePlus India; Tilen Pigac, OnePlus’s head of community; and Devraj Sanyal, managing director, and chief executive officer of Universal Music Group, India and South Asia hosted a press conference for the singer. Katy Perry, who visited India for her show at the opening of the 5th edition of the Indian Premier League in 2012, seemed pretty excited to be in India. Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez also attended the press conference where she introduced Katy Perry with the media. Jacqueline is reportedly the host at the Music festival, hence, Katy’s companion & guide in Mumbai.
The Race 3 actor shared an adorable selfie with the singer on her Instagram letting her fans know that she’s having her ‘fan moment’. Katy Perry arrived in a pink mini polka dot dress by Stine Goya, teamed with fluffy pink heels. She went with a high ponytail and looked every inch of the pop star she is. Jacqueline arrived in fur sleeved short dress. Katy was very excited to meet the actress.
Asking about how excited she is to be in Mumbai or India, Katy said, ” I am so happy to be returning to India and excited to headline my first ever performance in Mumbai. I am looking forward to seeing and singing with all of my Indian KatyCats at the OnePlus Music Festival”. Katy also showed excitement to listen & meet other artists who will be performing at the festival alongside her. The ‘Firework’ singer also hinted possible collaborations with Indian music artists and people from Bollywood. Katy mentioned that this time, she’ll be indulging & exploring the music of India and educate herself of Indian music.
The 35-year-old singer who got engaged to actor Orlando Bloom wants to soak in the flavor of Bollywood and everything in India. Katy stated that “I just don’t stay in my room and I am not that girl who orders room service. I like to go out, seek the world. I love people, culture, and tradition. So you are going to catch me in the streets.” The singer looked thrilled and all prepped up to meet people from the Bollywood industry with a different perspective and compassionate artistic thing.
Katy Perry last visited India with her then-boyfriend, now ex-husband Russell Brand in 2010. During their trip, they visited the Taj Mahal, Agra, where Brand proposed the singer for marriage. The couple got divorced after two years. She called herself a “whole different human” as she feels rejuvenated coming to India after a long time. The singer seemed to mingle pretty well with the Kick actress Jacqueline. Katy feels like the actress is going to take her shopping.
Asking about the Music festival, Mr. Pigac said, ‘the festival was conceptualized as a community-building endeavor to help create a recall value for OnePlus. “We believe that the music festival will provide us [with] a platform that will [create] brand loyalty and strengthen our connections,” OnePlus as a brand has forged a formidable reputation for its out of the box activities for its dedicated & passionate community. It is the first time that a tech brand is organizing an event at such a massive level.
If rumors are to true then,director-producer, Karan Johar will be hosting a star-studded bash for the Hollywood star. Karan Johar is a confessed professional party planner. He loves hosting social gatherings for his friends and this time its special with Katy Perry in it. The Bollywood director-producer has also hosted grand parties for Will Smith & Darren Aronofsky on their visits to India. The list of attendees includes Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone, Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Malaika Arora, etc. Guess a kind of party where we’d like to go right?
