There is a sense of relief and joy for the fans of Linkin Park, and especially late singer Chester Bennington’s fans as you might be able to listen to his voice soon but the twist is it won’t be from Linkin Park.

Pre-Linkin Park, Chester was involved with few bands throughout the ’90s that includes Grey Daze alongside his friend Sean Dowdell. Before the singer’s sad demise in 2017, the band and the singer were gearing up for a reunion and were working on some vocals that they initially planned to release on the 20th Anniversary of the group. Unfortunately, the reunion never came to be, but the band Grey Daze is determined to pay their tribute and honor the late vocalist.

Talinda Bennington, wife of late singer Chester Bennington, took her social media to share the heart filling news with the fans and followers of Chester that Grey Daze will be releasing a new album in honor of the singer by completing that (the project which Chester and the band were working on) project and re-record vocal takes.

Among the guest musicians who are shortlisted to appear on the recordings is Chester’s 23-year-old son Jamie Bennington, KORN’s Brian “Head” Welch and James “Munky” Shaffer, P.O.D’s Marcos Curiel, BUSH’s Chris Traynor, as well as Ryan Shuck, Chester’s bandmates in DEAD BY SUNRISE.

Talinda has found love again but continues to work with her foundation 320 Changes Direction and focuses on mental health awareness explained that the band Grey Daze album will help ‘shine a light on’ what her ‘husband started and hopefully give his fans a better idea and understanding of his art and more full picture of his journey through his incredible music.’

In her post, Talinda also explained that Chester was really excited for his fans to listen to the rock songs he was excited to play. There were so many messages in the songs that he wanted to spread out in the open for his fans.

Some of the songs on the album will feature young Bennington as the lead vocal, taking his father’s place and the members of the band stated “Chester would have been so very proud of his son Jamie Bennington. We had Jamie sing along with his father last night at NRG Recording Studios, and his voice is great! Sounds a lot like his father and we were all very proud to be a part of it.”

After his demise in 2017, it was not just Talinda or Linkin Park suffering, it was Grey Daze too because Chester started his career with this band and the bandmates have known him since forever. His passing away left too many emotions to work through before they could think about what would happen to the project that Chester was excited to work on.

Chester Bennington was not just the lead singer of a famous band Linkin Park; he was looked up as someone who understands you and is there for you always. His demise not only left his family and band members in shock, but the entire nation couldn’t accept that he was gone. * It still feels surreal* Chester passed away in 2017 by committing suicide as he couldn’t deal with his depression.

Since his passing away, his widow, Talinda Bennington along with Chester’s bandmates, has been raising awareness about mental illness and doesn’t want anyone to suffer. She is an advocate about mental illness and receives a lot of support and love from everyone around the world for always being true. After Chester lost his battle against depression, he hit rock bottom and Talinda makes sure with her words and reaches to help anyone who needs help.

Talinda Bennington recently got engaged, a move that was supported by the surviving members of Linkin Park as well as the fans and followers of the late singer. She shared the news on her social media and was showered with a lot of love and support.

Whereas there was some news that Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park is open about finding a new vocalist for the band. The singer in an interview mentioned that the band has to go on and there is no one who can replace Chester Bennington but if they find someone who is a great person and has the potential to work as much they do, they could use them. The singer specifically mentioned that he would never recruit anyone to replace Chester Bennington because that can never happen and that’s not his goal right now. The band is focused on working, making good music and honor Chester Bennington in every way possible.

The album is to be released through the 320 Changes Direction label, but it is still yet to receive an official release date.

Excited much?
