If you talk about one actress in the Bollywood that can still manage to swoon you out with her ‘good looks, good looks and good looks’ is none other than Kareena Kapoor Khan. Kareena debuted in the Bollywood with JP Dutta’s “Refugee” in 2000 along with Abhishek Bachchan. Since then the actress has been unstoppable even when she was pregnant with Taimur she was the talk of the town of how she is redefining the pregnancy and making it look easy and breezy. Whether it was the choices of the movies or fashion show red carpets or Karan Johar’s Koffee Couch, Kareena Kapoor Khan slays everything.

Kareena has not only redefined motherhood but also normalized the fact that actresses can work after marriage too. In an interview with Filmfare magazine, Kareena expressed her view on the take on women who work after marriage. She mentioned that people have now started to understand that marriage is just a culmination of love. The Bollywood industry never realized this that a woman can get married, have children and still work. But now, Kareena sighed relief and continued that it’s getting accepted. We have actresses like Vidya Balan, Anushka Sharma, Sonam and she for that matter, all top-order actresses, are always on the move.

Kareena finally said that it’s great that finally marriage is taken, as it is, the culmination of love between two people, who want to spend their life together. Marriage is not the end of an era. It’s not like a woman cannot settle down, work and have a life at the same time. People need to understand that it’s just the beginning of a beautiful journey.

Recently the actress was promoting her new film “Good Newwz” along with Akshay Kumar was asked about how she feels about getting compared with the young generation of the industry. Kareena being as witty as she is replied that she is pleased and proud of the choices she has made with picking the movies and projects for her. She explained this process as evolving and chose projects and films that are relevant and relatable to her in some way or the other. It’s been two decades that she has been working in the industry, but she is always out there looking for fresh and new content.

“Every time I want to do one small film, these big films come around, and I get tempted to those,” Kareena said. But still, these (big films) like a Veere Di Wedding had something, which was relevant to the millennial generation. That’s a definite, conscious kind of thing. To do big films with a heart and in a millennial, contemporary kind of way,”

But being a successful actress comes with a burden and comparison with other actresses. Kareena is often compared with the young generation actresses, which Kareena believes is wrong. When asked about how does she feel about that, Kareena simply answered that she is not the part of the generation she is being compared to. The young actors have a different perspective and view towards picking or choosing a role they’d like, and she has hers.

“I’m not a part of this generation or this race. But people always compare me with someone, and I’m like ‘but why?’ That’s wrong.” Kareena mentioned that she has spent almost two decades in the Bollywood industry and she’s doing her own thing. She is happy in her own space, and content in whatever that’s happening.

Talking about her movie choices “Veere di Wedding” and “Good Newwz”; Kareena explained when we speak about Veere di Wedding, no one has ever shown the side of a woman where she shares a great and honest bond with her friends where no one is jealous of each other’s success or is after anyone’s man. Or a woman who is dealing with divorce and being scrutinized by society for being liberal and living her life. Or having existential crises about everything and most importantly giving importance to her sexual desires. Still, Veere di Wedding did, and she didn’t want to leave an opportunity like that where she can be in a women-centric movie which showed a different side of a woman.

About Good Newwz, Kareena mentioned that according to the studies and surveys we had for the movie, it’s pretty clear that a millennial woman would want to have a child only when the two are ready. They’ll talk about it before actually getting on with it. She mentioned that it’s true the movie has Akshay and Diljit, but the women in the film play equally essential characters.

The movie Good Newwz is about two couples with the same surname that cannot have a child opts for IVF. The new plot point is that the clinic goofs up with their name, and that’s how the movie takes its place. Karan Johar explained that it’s essential for the society to know that IVF is a legit option for the couple that cannot have kids backed Kareena.

In the same interview, Kareena was asked about any Good Newwz in her life to which the actress denied and said that she and her husband Saif are thrilled with their kid Taimur Ali Khan and have no plans to expand their family.

On the work front, Kareena Kapoor Khan is set to appear onscreen in Raj Mehta’s “Good Newwz” is set to release on December 27th, 2019. The 39 years old actress will also be in “Laal Singh Chaddha” which is the Hindi adaptation of the Tom Hanks starrer Forrest Gump alongside Aamir Khan.
