Hyderabad Police claimed on Tuesday that two of the four accused involved in the rape and murder of the Veterinary Doctor had earlier burnt nine women after the rape. According to a media report on Wednesday, during interrogation, two accused confessed this to the police. On November 27, the four accused burnt to death after raping a Veterinary doctor. After arresting the accused, on December 6, when the police took everyone to the scene to recapture the scene, they tried to escape from there. After this, the police had encountered all four accused there.
Based on the information received during interrogation of the accused, a team of Cyberabad police is investigating in Karnataka. Four accused Mohammad Arif, J Naveen, J Siva and Chennakesavulu burnt the Veterinary Doctor on the outskirts of Hyderabad after the rape, a senior official said. After taking the accused into custody, we were investigating their role in 15 such cases of raping and burning women. Many of these cases occurred on the Telangana and Karnataka highways. Two of the four accused confessed to do the same with 9 other women.
The officer said that we are investigating all such cases and for this the team has been sent to many places. This staggering claim of the police was made at a time when the government has directed to constitute an SIT to investigate the encounter on December 6.
The three-member team will investigate the encounter
The Supreme Court has constituted a three-member commission headed by retired Judge VS Sirpurkar, which will investigate the encounter. On Tuesday, the Telangana police claimed that Arif was involved in six crimes, while Chennakesavulu burned and killed three women after the rape.
The two accused also sexually abused transgenders and prostitutes.
Telangana police said that Arif and Chennakesavulu carried out the incidents on the highway at Sanga Reddy, Ranga Reddy, Mahbubnagar and border areas of Karnataka & Telangana. Both admitted that they have also sexually abused prostitutes and transgenders, including many women, on the highway. However, he said that in 9 cases he burnt and killed all the women after rape like in the case of veterinary doctor. The Cyberabad Police already has all the forensic reports. A closure report will be filed by the authorities soon.
