Tha Chinese smartphone company Vivo to launch 5G with AI in 2020

The Chinese smartphone brand Vivo is one of the good options available in the market has seen amazing growth. As said by a top company executive, the smartphone company will increase its efforts to double in developing Artificial intelligence (AI) -enabled 5G devices in 2020 to match the fast-paced lifestyle of consumers.

The brand after capturing its highest share ever in the market i.e. 17% in the third quarter (July-September period) this year has brought it to third after Xiaomi and Samsung as said by Nipun Marya, Director Brand Strategy,Vivo India.

According to the German market research firm Gfk, Vivo India captured 23% of the market share in October.

Marya also told IANs that 2019 has been a good year for Vivo in India. This achievement is to constantly give industry-first innovations to our customers, continually expand our distribution footprint and announce more investments as part of our commitment to the India market. They are deeply focused on bringing innovations to stay ahead in the smartphone segment.

Marya further said Vivo will launch exclusive products having stylish designs and latest technology like other tech-lifestyle brands to match the fast-paced lifestyle of Indian consumers in the next year.

The two reasons behind the good performance of Vivo and Vivo India to reach its maximum share ever in India are Vivo India’s mid-segment series Vivo S1 and Y17 and the focus towards the online segment with U10, Z1X, and Z1 Pro which were recently launched.

According to Gfk, the Chinese handset maker recorded 22.5 % market share in terms of value and 21.4% in terms of volume.

Marya is also buoyant about the upcoming 5G smartphones for India as a company believes that the combination of 5G with Artificial Intelligence (AI) will bring a new trend for 5G-embedded smartphones.

To implement this, the industry leader has already invested heavily in the development and research of 5G smartphones.

Marya also said Vivo is a front-runner for new camera technology development in the industry; it aims at surprising its customers with new and exciting camera innovations in the coming year also.

The recent announcement to expand the manufacturing unit of Vivo handsets from 25 million (2.5 crores) to 33.4 million (3.3 crores) devices a year at the Guangdong-headquartered Vivo in Greater Noida has been made.

The Chinese brand is planning to invest Rs 7500 crores in India as according to Vivo, expansion is part of the handset maker’s broader.

Rs 10,000-Rs 20,000 handset was the best selling segment for the company in the third quarter and is expected to double down on this ever-growing segment, as said by Marya.
She further said that the onset of 5G services is a profitable deal that most of the mobile manufacturers are planning to go for next year.

Vivo launched its Y series with Y11 in India on Tuesday with a 5,000 mAh battery; Snapdragon 439 SoC priced at Rs 8,990 and is getting manufactured at the Greater Noida unit. Currently, smartphones are available in two colours- mineral blue and Agate red colour.

Vivo S1 Pro to launch in January 2020 India. The price will be under 20,000. Vivo will launch 5G with AI in 2020.
