If you have noticed, for a few years, many Bollywood actors/actresses have shunned the award shows. Some have quite openly shared their opinion on the same, while others chose to remain silent about the whole propaganda.
Remember the controversy that was stirred about actor Aamir Khan for his presence at the while he doesn’t care to attend award shows back on India? When asked about this, his response was, “I can’t take an award from someone whom I don’t respect.”
Here he referred to the famous sponsors of the award shows, which were dealing with tobacco and its consumption. Though this is not the only aspect of the award shows, which our celebrities hate, there are a few other upsetting tactics that work behind the scenes.
The bias selection of actors
The actors or actresses who are being nominated in a particular category are sent out invitations, which are cleverly refused by their respective managers stating the busy schedule or out of town presence.
They then make sure the actor would only show up in case he receives the award. If the team confirms the award, the actor then definitely shows up for the function, even catching a flight, especially for this.
Now you know how is it a coincidence for the winner to be always present.
Random new category of awards
It is no doubt that every year a new and totally random category is invented, and the actor is being given such out of the context awards. Some actors who don’t get nominated in any category, are still given ‘entertainment of the year’ or ‘star of the year’. This is only to please a few of them who refuse to come if they are not receiving any award.
Showing fake presence of audience
As they depict in the show, actors don’t enjoy being seated for a 4-hour show. Instead, they enter and exit as per their shots and appearance required. Infact, even the hilarious expressions or suspense, shock, etc. are not spontaneous. They are shot first and edited later as per the scene.
Barter system
Actors like Akshay Kumar have often been offered to reduce their performance fees in exchange to receive an award by the organising team. Though he has refused, but we can still make a list of all the actors who first performed for the event and were later awarded random awards.
Bribery
This comes as a no shock, Bollywood awards have been bought before. There are many claims that prove the selling of these awards.
Star Tantrums
Some female stars are reported of throwing tantrums regarding presenting a particular award. A few of them don’t want to give away lifetime awards to a faded actor. Instead, they insist on giving mediocre awards to some megastar.
