Iran attacked US military bases in Iraq on Wednesday morning to avenge the assassination of General Qasim Suleimani. Iranian media has claimed that 80 ‘American terrorists’ were killed in these attacks. Amidst all this, Iran’s Ambassador to India, Ali Chegeni, has said that we do not want war. We want peace and prosperity for all in the region. In such a situation, if India initiates peace between Iran and America, we welcome it.

Iran State TV quoted Revolutionary Guards as claiming that the attack had damaged American weapons and helicopters. There are more than 100 American base on Iran’s target. If the US tried to retaliate, it would attack these bases.


Foreign Minister Jaishankar spoke to Iran and America
Recently, External Affairs Minister Jaishankar spoke to Iran’s Foreign Minister Javed Zarif and US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo over the phone. He also appealed to both to exercise restraint. He had said that we are also worried about the dispute between the two countries. Both leaders told us to keep in touch.

Denmark, Norway, Australia and Iraq deny death of soldiers
The Iraqi military said Iran had fired a total of 22 missiles at both bases. The two missiles that fell on the Ain al-Assad base did not explode. Norway has said that none of its 70 soldiers stationed at the al-Assad base were killed. Denmark has also said that none of its 130 soldiers were killed or injured.

Trump said- ‘All is well’
After the attacks, US President Donald Trump tweeted, “All is well now.” Iran launches missiles at two military bases in Iraq. Damage and deaths are being reviewed. So far, so good. We have the most powerful army in the world. I will issue a statement on this matter tomorrow morning. “

Iran also threatens America’s allies
According to Iranian government media, the attacks are being carried out to avenge the assassination of General Suleimani. The Revolutionary Guards of Iran issued a statement saying, “We warn all of America’s comrades not to allow a terrorist army to use their base.” If any of their territories were used in an attack against Iran, it would also be targeted. ”Iran has threatened that if the US responds to these attacks, its Hezbollah army will fire rockets at Israel.


Iran’s Fars News Agency reported that Revolutionary Guards used Fateh-313 missiles to attack American bases. These are ground-to-surface missiles. Their range is 300 km.

Iran’s foreign minister said – attacked in self-defense
Iran’s Foreign Minister Javed Zarif said in a tweet after the attacks, “Iran has taken steps under Article 51 of the United Nations Charter for Self-Defense. We targeted the bases which were used to target our citizens and senior officers. We do not want to escalate the war, but will defend ourselves against any invasion.

Can Trump order a war against Iran?
After the Iran attack, US President Donald Trump convened a meeting of security agencies led by the National Security Advisor. According to the US Constitution, the power of any direct military action is divided between the President and the Congress (Parliament). Where the Parliament can declare war against any country, the President can order the use of military for the security of the country.

US stops civil aviation services over Iran-Iraq

India issues travel warning for travellers to Iraq
India has issued a travel warning for citizens going to Iraq. It says that Indians should not go to Iraq if it is not necessary.
