Fever clinics set up in railway hospitals at Hubballi, Bengaluru And Mysuru

Persons suffering from common cold and upper respiratory track infection have similar symptoms and it is difficult to differentiate between Covid-19 and other respiratory diseases having same symptoms. To avoid mixing of patients with these symptoms, other diseases a separate clinic has been established in Railway Hospitals of SWR with separate team of Doctors, Nurse, Paramedical staff and Pharmacist with Personal Protective Equipment. Fever clinics are also planned to be set up at other locations for diagnosis of Covid -19.

All guidelines issued by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare are being followed with separate entry and exit for these patients. These patients are being first scanned with thermal scanner and case paper issued immediately after examination by the doctor. Medicines prescribed will be dispensed in the restricted area. If any symptoms of Covid-19 virus are noticed in the patient, the Throat/Nasal Swab is being collected by using non-touch cubicle and sent to identified hospitals i.e. Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences, Hubballi, which is one of the districts Central Hospital for diagnosis of Covid-19 virus.

Directives and protocol issued by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare are strictly being followed for collection and transportation of Swab. Collection of Swab samples of patents with symptoms has started today (20/04/2020).

All doctors and Paramedical staff are trained to handle Covid -19 patients. Fever Clinics are planned to be setup at additional locations on SWR. These facilities are open to the general public as designated by State Govt.
