Tarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashmah needs no introduction. It is the longest-running TV show which is directed by someone other than Ekta Kapoor. Her directed shows are known for being telecaster over years.

The entire cast, storyline, and concept of this show are unique and unseen before. How the common man problems are tackled makes it a must-watch. The show is not based on daily soap operas but is of the comedy genre. The show has managed to win hearts with their stellar performances. The character of Dayaben has become a household name with its chirpy nature and great comic timing. Every character is given equal importance and screen presence.

Tarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashmah doesn’t feature any of the saas-bahu drama, no unnecessary quarrels over petty issues, no forced marriages. This has garnered the interest of users for many years.

There has been a great curiosity among people regarding the formation of these characters. According to reports, the character of Iyer, a South Indian was suggested by Dilip Joshi. He was one of the writers of the show. After Dilip aka Jethalal’s suggestion, he was made a character. We are pleased to know Dilip’s forecast!

If Dilip could also forecast Popatlal’s marriage (sic).

Ekta Kapoor, the producer of many legendary shows like kyuki saas bhi Kabhi bahu thi, ye Rishta kya kehlata hai and so on, is known to have created soap operas that have lasted for a decade.

In a parallel universe, let’s see what would have happened if Tarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashmah was directed by Ekta Kapoor?

Dayaben’s Death

This would have been a sure possibility. We could have seen, Daya dying and then coming back. Or at least she would have undergone plastic surgery.

Tapu’s marriage with Sonu

Another possible trend of marrying your best friend would have telecasted in this show. Tapu and Sonu who are best friends since the start of the show must get married according to the laws of daily soap operas.

Unnecessary drama

We cannot deny the possibility of the unnecessary drama that is the TRP generator of Ekta Kapoor shows. There would be constant fights and quarrels in every household, especially between the Mahila Mandal.

Dadaji’s death

Daily soap operas are known to kill their make members, and the ages of females are shown considerably more. If Tarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashmah transforms into a typical and cliché drama, then Tapu’s Dadaji aka Champaklal ji must have died by now.

Pregnancy

Ekta Kapoor is known to telecast wedding, baby shower, baby birth ceremonies all these over 100 episodes. We are sure if she had taken the reins of this show, some lady might have gone pregnant and they would have generated at least 70 episodes revolving around the good news, followed by puja. Another 10 to 20 episodes would have been about the lady got into trouble and now her baby is in danger. She needs to save her family. She will lose this child, go into depression and everyone else would be shown going into flashbacks about the baby.

The Vamp

The only thing which is missing in the format of Tarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashmah is an evil vamp. She is the most sophisticated, well dressed, and the only beauty with brains character of Ekta Kapoor’s plots. You never know if Babita could have turn into a vamp if it worked according to Ekta Kapoor’s wishes.

Reincarnation of Jethalal

Remember Kyuki saas bhi Kabhi bahu thi? This show had featured the entry of Mihir (the male protagonist) for a record-breaking number. Every time his ex-wife Tulsi was about to marry, he would come back from the graves.

We wish if we could see Jethalal dying (so sad!) and then coming back every time.

We can now hear “Hey Maa Mataji” in the background.

Riches to Rags and then again riches

She is known to plot tragedies that result in families losing their wealth and facing poverty. Then again some magic happens and the family comes back to square 1. If this would have been the story of Tarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashmah, Jethalal would have taken a loan. He would have been duped, sent to jail. He would have lost everything and would have shown living in poverty. Then one fine day, he would have cracked a multi-million deal and would have come back to Gokuldham Society.

Time Leap

How can we forget this! Daily soap operas golden rule is showing a time leap. With females gaining weight and males are shown with grey hair, there has to occur at least a one-time leap in any show, according to the laws of success of soap operas. Though we would want to see Jethalal in the salt and pepper look, seriously it would have been too much if this had happened.

Jethalal and Babita’s marriage

The last but not the least- Jethalal marries Babita. We know everyone secretly wants this!

Ekta Kapoor doesn’t really understand the concept of friendship with the opposite sex. According to the high voltage drama rule, every best friend will sooner or later get married to each other. It may be an arranged marriage, for the sake of family, for saving someone’s life, etc. But they are sure to get married. The attraction of Jethalal towards Babita is obvious. If Ekta Kapoor ruled here, they would get married and the entry of Daya would have been shown at the time of pheras!

The writers of the show, make a note!
