Heavy rains in the capital Jaipur wreaked havoc on common people. Most of the city was submerged in a few hours. 4 people lost their lives due to high water flow. Many vehicles were swept away in the water. Hundreds of temporary houses have collapsed. After the rain stopped, in some areas the water level decreased, dozens of vehicles were buried under the debris. The Bhaskar team landed on the ground report and saw the havoc of rain.
More than 50 houses of debris were collected after the earthen mound collapsed in Ganeshpuri Kachchhi, situated behind the Laldungari Meena Petrol Pump on Jaipur Delhi Highway. The main doors of the houses were buried with soil. People said that no relief team of the administration reached them for a long time. Due to the water in the houses, many families had to take shelter elsewhere.
Malti Devi of Ghat Gate told that Khanapuri is done in the name of cleaning the drains of the city. In light rain, drains start flowing on the roads. Even after warning of heavy rains, no arrangements were made. The entire government and officials were busy in the political game.
The development of the jeweler market says the same thing. The Meteorological Department had already issued a warning of heavy rain in Jaipur. But officials of the district administration, the municipal corporation, JDA, and the disaster and relief team remained careless. The ministers also continued to seek trust votes. The government was running from the hotel. No one did any concrete relief work. Due to this the whole township was submerged, temporary houses have collapsed. This left many families homeless. BJP leader Ashok Parnami reached many such areas. He accused the government of misconduct.
People took shelter in community centers. With the help of local organizations, their housing and food were arranged in the community center. People had alleged that the government representatives were irresponsible due to the closure in the government hotel. The result is that the rains wreaked havoc today.
All this only highlights what has been going on in the Rajasthan government in the last couple of months. Many are questioning the leadership.
