Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal raised concerns against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) demonstrations and politicization in several universities in the country. He said at the Kolkata event on Sunday that the government would not tolerate making educational institutions a political hub under any circumstances. Everyone has the freedom to engage in political activities, but university and college should be kept away from it. Most of the students come here to study from far and distance.

Sources in Delhi Police told that a protest was to be held in Jafrabad in East Delhi at 2 pm. For this, people had gathered at 1.15 pm in the afternoon. They started the march on foot towards Seelampur. Initially the protest was peaceful but suddenly people started to disperse and violence started.

There is anger among students of Aligarh Muslim University after the passage of the Citizenship Amendment Bill in the Lok Sabha. In view of the demonstration, security forces have been set up in the AMU campus. Earlier on Tuesday evening, students shouted slogans against the administration and protested by burning a copy of the bill. The students took out a torch procession. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has been declared anti-Muslim. During this time the police also had to use force. Police have registered a case against 500 students, including 20 nominated, for violating Section 144.
