CBI on Friday filed supplementary challan in Vyapam’s police constable recruitment-2013, naming 16 new accused including Bharat Mishra, brother of Sonali Mishra (IPS) and Tarang Sharma, son-in-law of ex-IAS Manish Shrivastava.

The CBI carried out searches at 13 locations on Tuesday including the premises of present and former directors of Mumbai-based Frost International which has been booked by the agency for allegedly cheating a consortium of 14 banks to the tune of over Rs 3,592 crore, officials said.

At the behest of former CBI Special Director Rakesh Asthana, who was engulfed in controversies, an attempt was made to collect Rs 50 lakh from a doctor in Chandigarh. Investigations have been ordered against Asthana, former DGP of Chandigarh Tejinder Singh Luthra, DSP Satish Kumar who has gone back to Delhi and Inspector Ashwani Kumar on the complaint of the doctor. For this, CBI Delhi wrote to Chief Vigilance Officer of UT i.e. Advisor Manoj Parida - The whole matter is from Chandigarh. At the same time, officers have misused power. Therefore UT Vigilance should investigate this.

It has been ten years after the death of a Pune-based RTI activist Satish Shetty in 2009. Shetty was fighting for seeking information through RTI on an ongoing road project in Maharashtra. A special court in Delhi has given a big blow to Congress leader P Chidambaram. The Rouse Avenue court has allowed the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to arrest and interrogate former Finance Minister P Chidambaram in the INX Media money laundering case. The court allowed the ED to interrogate P Chidambaram for 30 minutes. The ED will interrogate him in Delhi's Tihar Jail tomorrow.

According to the Central Investigation Agency, the action taken under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) involves the attachment of Bhushan Steel, its buildings, plants and machinery in Odisha. The total value of the attached property is estimated to be around Rs 4025.23 crore.
