A day after Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said economic growth was rebounding, government data on Wednesday showed that industrial output contracted by 0.3% in December while retail inflation jumped to a 68-month high of 7.59% in January on high food prices.

India’s retail inflation plunged to 7.35% in December 2019, originally on the back of increasing food prices and increased telecom tariffs, according to official data issued on Monday evening.

These prices are double the previous week. These are retail prices, although there is no significant change in the wholesale price in the last two weeks.
