Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday said he has asked the Delhi Police Commissioner to take the strictest action after a man identified as Rambhakt Gopal Sharma opened fire in Jamia area and injuring a varsity student and asserted that no such incident will be tolerated.

A man identified as Rambhakt was detained on Thursday after he opened fire at the Jamia Millia Islamia students demonstrating against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act and the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in the national capital.

The UPSC prelims results were out on Jan 15, 2020. Out of 170 students that appeared for UPSC Civil Service (Main) Examination, 54 students from Jamia cleared. These candidates were given coaching at Residential Coaching Academy (RCA). The candidates will now appear for the interview.
