On August 05, the Centre stripped off the special constitutional status of the state of Jammu and Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370. Furthermore, with the passing of the Reorganization Bill, Jammu and Kashmir no more remained a state but was declared to be two separate Union Territories [UTs].

The allegedly false FIRs filed against thousands of people in the Khunti district of Jharkhand has not gone without a response. Adivasi Nyay Manch is a newly formed village organization, constituted on June 09 in Bhandara village of Khunti. The organization is seeking for the cases to be transferred to a particular investigation agency for a free, fair and independent investigation.

The complainant, Sudhir Kumar Ojha, has now filed a 'protest petition' against the police. The petition, presented before Chief Judicial Magistrate Suryakant Tiwari alleged that the police had taken this step under political pressure and should hand over the case to the CBI.

The SSP of Muzaffarpur in Bihar on Wednesday ordered the closure of the cases filed against these eminent people.
