Stone Pelting on Vande Bharat Express while passing through Pathankot Cantt Station, coach’s windows broken

The Vande Bharat Express was pelted on the mill bridge near Pathankot Cantt railway station. Due to this, the glass of a coach of the train was shattered. On receiving the news of stone pelting, there was a stir among the officials of the railway division, RPF went to the spot but no one was found there. RPF has registered a case on unknown and claimed to send the accused behind bars in 1-2 days.

According to the information, on October 12, Vande Bharat Express was moving from Delhi to Katra, When some people threw stones at the chakki pul at 5:32 pm, one of which hit on the glass of a C-4 coach. The glass broke. Though the train passed through Pathankot Cantt at 5:37 pm without stopping, but the passenger in the C-4 coach informed the RPF team (escort). The escort team complained to the Delhi Head Office.

Complaint from Control Room was taken to Pathankot Cantt RPF Police Station. After 10 minutes of receiving the complaint, the entire team including RPF post commandant reached the stone pelting place but no one was found there. RPF has registered a case on unknown. According to the sources, RPF has traced the accused, but the accused could not be arrested.

Actually, the place of incident is situated on the Punjab-Himachal border, due to the hilly and wooded area, it has become a hub of drug addicts. The first indigenously built Vande Bharat Express to run at a speed of 130 km is the top among the 8100 trains running in the country.

Special teams have been formed for arresting the accused responsible for the stone pelting. Soon the accused will be arrested. If caught throwing stones at the train, there is a provision of imprisonment for 10 years for this act.
