In a shocking development, IBM managing director (MD) of India & South Asia services Karan Bajwa is replaced by Sandip Patel. Bajwa will now track possibilities outside of the company.
IBM has declared Sandip Patel as Bajwa’s heir. He will be the MD of IBM’s India & South Asia operations. Green, on the other hand, will be succeeded by Brenda Harvey, who is currently the General Manager, US Public Market. Her current specification will be GM, Asia Pacific.
Patel will be liable for all necessary and operational matters linked to IBM’s sales, retailing services and distribution operations in the region, including in Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka.
“He will perform a significant part in facilitating India’s abilities across IBM’s global purposes, global hubs of distinction, analysis and reform labs,” the group said.
His vast expertise in key activities, including financial services, insurance, and healthcare, joined with his global management experience will deliver great value to IBM’s customers and market in the region, the company added.
“Sandip’s deep business expertise and global knowledge of customers across various businesses will deliver tangible benefit to our customers as they start on their transmutation journey,” Said Harriet Green while declaring the appointment. He further added, “IBM has been a pivotal part of India’s technology mission and continues to offer the modification required to influence India’s digital transmutation across important businesses and government.”
Lately, Patel was based in Boston, Massachusetts where he was IBM’s Global General Manager for the insurance business and was liable for the company’s sales across all brands in this business segment.
Earlier, Patel was the President of Aetna international where he had complete P&L charge for their global business. He has worked as a partner in several management roles at IBM, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and Coopers & Lybrand. At the start of his career, he was exercising as a chartered accountant in India.
