In a tragic incident in Ghaziabad’s Tyodi village, a 10-year-old boy named Aad was brutally beaten to death by his father, Naushad, over the suspicion of stealing Rs 500 from their home. The boy lived with his father and stepmother, Razia, who were both reportedly known for frequently abusing him. This routine mistreatment escalated on Saturday morning when the couple could not find Rs 500 that had been kept in the house and immediately suspected the boy of theft.

According to neighbors and local residents, Naushad began to physically assault Aad using a ‘phukni’ – a blowpipe typically made of metal and used to keep coal stoves lit. He repeatedly struck the boy on his body before delivering a fatal blow to his head.

Despite the brutal nature of the attack, it was not an isolated incident. Neighbors described a disturbing pattern of abuse towards Aad, with many claiming that physical punishment had become a regular occurrence in the household.

One local resident, Rahat Ali, stated, “Naushad would often beat up his son, even for the smallest of things. This time, it was because Rs 500 went missing, and this time, the boy didn’t survive. Beating the child had become a habit for him.”

The incident came to light when Aad’s grandparents filed a police complaint, accusing Naushad and Razia of abusing their grandson, leading to his death. Ghaziabad Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Gyan Prakash Rai confirmed that the couple had been taken into custody following the complaint. “We have received information that the child was frequently beaten by the parents.

The blowpipe, which was used during the assault, has been seized, and both Naushad and Razia are in custody. Further investigations are underway to understand the full extent of the abuse and the events leading to the child’s death,” ACP Rai stated.

The community is reeling from the shock of the incident, with many expressing outrage over the senseless and brutal nature of the crime. According to locals, the family had been living in Tyodi village for several years, and while some were aware of the abusive treatment towards Aad, no one intervened, fearing repercussions from Naushad.

The tragic death of the young boy has raised serious questions about child protection and the lack of intervention in domestic violence cases. While Naushad and Razia are now in police custody, the incident underscores the vulnerability of children in abusive homes and the critical need for communities to be vigilant and report signs of abuse before they escalate to fatal consequences.

As authorities continue their investigation, the case has sparked discussions on the importance of awareness and early intervention in child abuse cases, hoping to prevent such tragedies in the future. The tragic loss of Aad is a stark reminder of the innocent lives that can be lost to unchecked violence within families.
