Mumbai: Shiv Sena member of Parliament and Saamna editor Sanjay Raut, who was once the Shiv Sena's prized asset is now proving to be the prime liability for the newly formed Maha Vikas Aghadi government.

 It has not even been two years since a narrative of ‘Urban Naxals’ started in Maharashtra and implicated rights activists and lawyers on the said charge. With the Maha Vika Aaghadi assuming power in the State there is speculation for it to reconsider these allegations. Dhananjay Munde, the MLA of NCP in a communication to the State’s newly sworn-in chief minister, has requested him to re-look the ‘false allegations’ made out against the said activists and lawyers, who are ailing in different jails across the State. He has demanded that as the case was based on frivolous grounds, the same be withdrawn and the activists soon be released. NCP is one of the three political parties who have joined hands in alliance to form a government in the State.

It was during the act that the girl’s mother arrived home and called out for the neighbours to help. However, the neighbours were an angry mob who subdued the accused and started to thrash him. After that, he was stripped naked and tied up. He was then made to parade on the streets before handing him over to the police. A criminal case pertaining to sexual assault of minor has been registered against him. 

Nagpur Police on Thursday summoned former Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. The Nagpur court issued summons to Fadnavis on 4 November. The former chief minister is accused of hiding two criminal cases in the electoral affidavit. Lawyer Satish Uke had filed a petition seeking initiation of criminal action against Fadnavis.

The pillars of the constitution were astonishing and they unified India. It gave the right to vote for representatives and government. Indians were given fundamental rights of speech, association, movement, life, liberty, and religious practice. It gave India democracy and a universal franchise. It made India an organized society. Under the constitution, the state would not be partially based on religion. The marginal sections like Scheduled Castes and Tribes were provided justice and the state was assigned responsibility to lift the poor.

The BJP government, which was formed lifting President's rule by overnight in Maharashtra, had to leave the ground on Constitution Day (26 November) on Tuesday. First NCP's Ajit Pawar resigned as Deputy CM. After this, Devendra Fadnavis also left the Chief Minister's chair, saying there was no majority. Talking about 2017, the area with 72% population of the country was ruled by NDA. Now only 41% of its rule is left. In 11 months, the NDA has lost power in 4 big states.

With a promise to take Maharashtra forward, the alliance in news- Maha Vikas Aghadi has expressed concerns and reservations over the inflated cost of the bullet train project and the returns. A senior Congress leader in conversation with NDTV suggested that if the project has to go ahead, the costs involved will be have to borne by the centre. Maharshtra government now is not willing to expend any further on the bullet train project. The costs involved in the project is pegged at Rs. 1.08 lakh crores, which as per sources will not be given a go by the alliance.

The Supreme Court ordered a floor test for the formation of government in Maharashtra. A few hours later, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, who took oath 4 days ago, resigned from the post. Opposition parties Shiv Sena, Congress and NCP went to the Supreme Court regarding the floor test. This is not the first case when political parties have moved the Supreme Court to form government in the states. Earlier, 4 such cases have been reported.

In a full picture view, the NCP is now set to form the government in Maharashtra in coalition with Congress and Shiv Sena. On the other hand, Ajit Pawar has been cleared in nine ongoing corruption cases. What the BJP is left with is nothing but a nation-wide insult for staging a political drama and undermining the constitutional norms. Now, Ajit Pawar returns to the NCP, not with very clean hands. With MLAs disappearing to being found again, Sharad Pawar is now an acclaimed political mastermind for the country.

The new three-day government of the BJP with Devendra Fadnavis as the chief minister is certainly not unprecedented in the history of the political party. In 1996, when it was the first Hindu nationalist government in India, it collapsed in just 13 days. The prime minister in power for 13 days was Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee who resigned before facing a vote of confidence in the Parliament.
