After the Supreme Court’s verdict in the Sushant Singh Rajput case, Bihar’s Director General of Police Gupteshwar Pandey’s comments on Rhea Chakraborty are making headlines.

The Supreme Court has handed over this case to the CBI and has also said that the recommendation of the CBI investigation by the Bihar government was correct. The court also said that there is nothing wrong in the FIR registered in Patna.

The Mumbai Police, reportedly, did not cooperate with the Bihar Police in the investigation and questioned the jurisdiction. Later Rhea Chakraborty reached the Supreme Court. Meanwhile, the Bihar government has also recommended a CBI inquiry into the matter and the central government has also approved the recommendation. And now the Supreme Court has also cleared the CBI inquiry.

Commenting on Rhea Chakraborty, the DGP of Bihar said that due to the cooperation of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Sushant Singh Rajput can now get justice.

The Bihar DGP also questioned the role of Mumbai Police in Rhea Chakraborty’s case. Gupteshwar Pandey says that he opened his mouth when his IPS officer Vinay Tiwari was unnecessarily quarantined.

Due to his statements in the media, the famous Gupteshwar Pandey said that he has been asked by the government to stand for the Bihar Police and he is not making any political statement.

After the Supreme Court’s decision, the DGP of Bihar said in response to a question that Rhea Chakraborty did not have any time to comment on the Chief Minister of Bihar. DGP Gupteshwar Pandey expressed happiness over the Supreme Court’s decision that whatever the Bihar Police did, it was correct and within the purview of the law.

Journalists had asked Gupteshwar Pandey about Rhea Chakraborty’s statement in which Rhea talked about politics in the Bihar Police investigation and also mentioned Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Rhea Chakraborty filed a petition in the Supreme Court questioning the Bihar Police investigation.

However, now Bihar DGP Gupteshwar Pandey has apologized in this matter. In a conversation with a news channel, he said that if there is any problem with his talk, then he apologizes.

Gupteshwar Pandey said, “Let me explain what is indecent, what is indecisive and what is illegal. I said that it is not her position to make any vulgar, indecent remark on the honorable Chief Minister of Bihar. If she feels that the words I have used hurt her dignity, then I have no hesitation in apologizing for this. But the liberty of being a woman is not that you can make an indecent remark on the Chief Minister of a province, the Chief Minister, who is known for his honesty and his justice, you should make an indecent. If there is any problem, then I’ll apologize. “

Actor Sushant Singh Rajput, from Bihar, was found dead at his residence in Mumbai on 14 June. The Mumbai Police called it suicide. Later, Sushant Singh’s father KK Singh lodged an FIR with the Patna Police and accused Rhea Chakraborty of abetting his suicide along with other serious charges.

Nitish expressed happiness

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has also expressed happiness over the decision of the Supreme Court and said that he now hopes that justice will be provided in Sushant Singh case. He said that the decision of the Supreme Court has proved the stand of the Bihar government and it has also become clear that there was no political interference in this case.

DGP surrounded on social media

The statement of the DGP of Bihar is being discussed all over social media. On Twitter, a user named Salman has tagged the IPS Association saying – “what is this? Is it an honor for women? Please take some action. On the one hand, you  speak about respect for the women, on the other hand, disrespect the woman by talking about her ‘aukat’.

Another user Abhishek has written – Who are you, Gupteshwar Pandey ji, who speaks on the “aukat” of a woman?

Some people have also commented in favor of DGP Gupteshwar Pandey of Bihar.

All in all, this case has brought out the internalized misogyny of the Indian people. Similar cases of the past, where a woman committed suicide and her boyfriend/husband was linked to it, never garnered such hatred from the public. Whether Rhea is proven guilty in the future or not, one thing should be kept in mind, such comments are extremely derogatory to all women
