The news of any celebrity comes as a shock to their fans. One such report was of Bollywood couple Arbaaz Khan and Malaika Arora. The couple decided to end their marriage of 19 years in 2016. The two share a son and have remained cordial with each other and continue to be great parents to Arhaan, who lives with his mother.
What amused the audience was the fact that no one saw the ending of the relationship coming their way, but according to the sources, it was long due. Since the two are always under the limelight, it becomes challenging to know what went wrong because there can be various reasons.
According to sources close to Malaika Arora, her divorce petition included three major points,
• The marriage had failed to give her financial stability.
• The family wanted Malaika to lead pure and domestic life.
• She’d never keep Arhaan away from Arbaaz but needed his custody at any cost.
A little while ago, on a chat show that Kareena Kapoor Khan hosted; Kareena asked the actress about the divorce situation. To which Malaika very confidently answered that deciding to divorce someone you’ve loved for such a long time is not a decision you can take in a day as it is a huge step. Still, it gave her a sense of freedom because she was able to choose life. Malaika revealed that there were people close to her and acquaintances who advised her to re-think her decision, but she was firm. They asked her to think about the consequences of walking off a marriage.
Malaika mentioned that she was happy with the choice she made, ‘I could make a choice which I stand by. I was not under any duress. I am happy about the fact that it does give you that freedom to move on, to make new choices, to make new decisions, to go out in the world with your head held high without feeling the past baggage that was there.”
Kareena went ahead and asked about how is she dealing with the separation, to which Malaika replied that there are some ups and downs in life which is a sole part of it, so it’s okay. She mentioned that every individual in their life probably wants to be in a relationship or move on to find love again. Nobody wants to be alone and single for the rest of his or her life. Irrespective of what everyone around the actress had said to her, she’s happy to take a step which is good for her. She mentioned that she’s going to focus on herself and her son as of now as that’s the priority.
Whereas recently, Arbaaz Khan spoke about his divorce with Malaika Arora, the actor-producer-director said, ‘Everything seemed fine, but it crumbled. Things don’t work out, and it’s only fair that people who want to take their life in their own hands will take that decision.’
Arbaaz mentioned that he and Malaika have been together for so many years and shared some delightful time. But sometimes that isn’t enough to keep two people together. Arbaaz recalled and stated that something was missing. Something that did not work between the couple, which eventually leads them to a decision of leading their lives as individuals. ‘However, this doesn’t mean that we will hate each other. We are mature individuals; we are dealing with it with respect and dignity.’ ‘Arbaaz mentioned couple’s priority is Arhaan who has kept the bond between the two alive, and that’s why there’s a sense of respect for each other.
Not only does Arbaaz shares a friendly equation with Malaika, but her family as well. “I have a good equation with her side of the family too. So if we could not live amicably under one roof, we decided to lead our lives separately. Our son has kept us bonded, and when he grows up, everything will be better,” he said.
Talking about the kids, Malaika mentioned in an interview that their kid, Arhaan Khan, took the separation better than they thought. She said that she wanted to give her kid the best and positive environment to grow up in. The actress mentioned that Arhaan has seen us miserable, and now he is seeing us happy and evolving, so he has accepted that we have separated. She added, “He did turn around one day, and he did say that to me, ‘Mom, it’s good to see you happy and smiling’.”
It is seen that Malaika and Arbaaz have both moved on their lives and found love again. The actress is dating Arjun Kapoor, and Arbaaz Khan is dating Giorgia Andriani. It did take some time for the actress to accept the relationship, but as Arjun Kapoor mentioned that they only took time to make sure that the paparazzi would be acceptable and not too judgmental about their relationship.
In the same interview, Arbaaz spoke about how much the divorce had affected him because there were some rumors that the divorce started to hamper his professional life and focus on work too.
Arbaaz said: “Many things were going on in my personal life at that time, so I knew I couldn’t give my film 100 percent, and that wouldn’t be fair. “I couldn’t concentrate, and this time we wanted something new with Dabangg 3. Bringing Prabha Deva aboard was certainly a good decision because it would also contribute to the creative part.”
Arbaaz Khan and Giorgia Andriani have been going strong as they are spotted at various places whether its dinner dates, lunch dates, festivals, events or even wedding receptions. Giorgia is accepted by the Khan Family and often seen at the Galaxy Apartment. It’s noted that Malaika has taken her ex-husband’s relationship very well and are very cordial and warm towards each other.
There are rumors around both couples tying the knot in the coming year. In the context of the statement, Malaika answered on behalf of Arjun and her stating it’s all false news. We are happy where we are, and we are trying to enjoy this phase as much as we can. On another hand, Arbaaz Khan talked about his marriage plans to his girlfriend. He answered very smartly that whenever he gets married, he’ll make sure everyone knows that he is getting married until then people should stop believing the rumors because they aren’t true at all.
On the work front, Arbaaz is busy with Dabangg 3 starring Salman Khan, Sonakshi Sinha, and Southern Star Sudeep, which is releasing on December 20. On the other hand, Malaika Arora cannot stop giving everyone primary fitness goals, praising her abs and posing for shutterbugs after her gym.
