Amazon Prime dropped the official trailer of the most gripping & controversial series “Inside Edge 2” on November 18th, 2019. The series is a sequel to the first part of the series “Inside Edge” written by Karan Anshuman, directed by Aakash Bhatia. Inside Edge’s executive producers are Ritesh Sidwani & Farhan Akhtar.
The series returns to Amazon Prime on 6th December 2019. It stars Richa Chaddha, Angad Bedi, Vivek Oberoi, Tanuj Virwani, Siddhant Chaturvedi, & Sayani Gupta in the lead. For this season, there have been additions to the cast including Sapna Pabbi, Elli Avram & Aamir Bashir.
The first season of the series revolved around the Mumbai Mavericks team, a cricket team part of Powerplay T20 (PPL). PPL is a fictional game like the Indian Premier League. The season finale ended up with a cliffhanger like; Does Vikrant survive the final blow? Will Arvind Vashisth leave Mumbai Mavericks to join Handa’s team? What happens to Prashanth Kanaujia after he fires the lethal gunshot? And the biggest question of them all — Who is Bhaisahab? The second season will serve as an answer to these and many more unanswered questions for fans across the world.
The second season will reveal the identity of much-awaited ‘Bhaisabh’ portrayed by Aamir Bashir. He is a man who wishes to take the sport to a global level rather than just being a commonwealth sport. Is he saying that because he genuinely wants to make the sport global or is it just about the money?
Zarina Malik aka Richa Chadha is seen attempting to go up the ladder along with siding with Bhaisabh. Richa Chadha’s character somewhere resembles Priety Zinta IRL. It is reported that this season Zarina Malik’s character will take centre stage. Her role is to sport an edgy look inspired by Jessica Alba’s onscreen character Max Guevera, a genetically enhanced super-soldier, from the science-fiction TV show Dark Angel.
The second season’s trailer looks intriguing because this season it’s Arvind Vashish vs Vayu Raghavan. Yep, these two are going to face each other on the cricket field, not as teammates but opposition teammates. Arvind is no longer the captain of Mumbai Mavericks but has decided to captain Haryana Hurricanes. So this leaves Vayu to captain his team. Sapna Pabbi introduced as Vayu’s new love interest.
Prashant Kanaujia, aka Siddhant Chaturvedi, is one of the characters that is going to keep the fans hooked. No, not because he’s a star now, but because he shot Devender Mishra in the season finale. Remember? So this season is going to be his battle against himself and how does this young player pushes himself beyond the limit will be very interesting to watch. Labelled as the rookie, who replaces an injured player in the team is to look out for. He plays an exemplary first-class player who can do wonders with the ball.
The trailer gives glimpses of doping scandals, cricket politics, drug abuse, each character’s own story & much more. At the end of the trailer, you will see Vivek Oberoi and his sinister self also reprising his role as the mastermind in this deadly combination of money, power, politics, and cricket. He is saying that everything is going as planned.
The trailer of “Inside Edge 2” has bowled out the fans to a level that they have shared their views online. It will be exhilarating to see how the story unfolds about politics in cricket on 6th December 2019 on Amazon Prime.
Inside Edge has received an International Emmy nomination for Best Drama in 2018, making it Amazon’s only representation in the list.
